so i did a bit of reading today on news for vaping and found this!

apparently  Europe is trying to ban them on the grounds of electronic cigarettes being equally as harmful as smoking a regular cigarette !

Citing a “risk that electronic cigarettes can develop into a gateway to normal cigarettes,” the commission intends to group e-cigarettes under a new “tobacco products directive,” treating them as a “tobacco related product,” and as such, “be regulated within this directive” by 2017.

how do you guys feel about this? Even all of you reading this who don’t live in Europe?

The article talks about European officials wanting to regulate vaping because they want to keep from normalizing the act of smoking a regular cigarette in general.

i  personally think regulating vaping is not needed as long as people using said vapes don’t go out abusing the freedom of the vape!

i have a post i did recently about my personal vaping rules feel free to give it a read!

  1. Hey there! Great topic…so much more needs to be known. Most people, like me, know very little about the e-cigarette. Seems to be better than tobacco and worse than not smoking at all. I think it should be regulated the same as cigarettes…no need to go backwards in our efforts to be respectful of each other. We are living closer and closer together, so it’s important to be more respectful of each other’s personal space. cs5711

  2. Being a fan of conspiracy theories (lol), I think these sad European laws trying to regulate e-cigarettes might be supported by the tobacco industries over there. They know vaping is a major threat to their business. Most people who try vaping realize it is a much cheaper and more enjoyable way to smoke (even if it is not technically “smoking”). I think with these laws, they are trying to discourage people from buying e-cigarettes to keep their hold of the market.
Fortunately, the reputation of tobacco companies here in America is beyond repair and I don’t think they have that type of influence to push for laws regulating e-cigarettes here in America.
As a fellow vaper, I feel sad about this oppression being brought onto our friends in Europe. The only way we can show our support and prevent these laws from being implemented is to bring this topic out in the open and educate people who might think vaping is just another evil.
